Winnipeg's pass defense has a Philpot problem it never solved after the first meeting

Montreal hung 440 passing yards on the Bombers and Tyson Philpot torched them for 11 catches and 207 yards, plus two single-season CFL records and a franchise mark — with rookie Rohan Jones scoring his first career touchdown in the same game. Winnipeg had beaten the Alouettes weeks earlier, so this wasn't a talent gap; it was a coverage-communication failure against slot receivers that the staff failed to carry over. Whatever worked in the first matchup didn't travel.
