Kyrie Wilson is the thumper at WILL linebacker who was supposed to be the antidote to a leaky run front, yet his team just set an inglorious franchise record by surrendering 377 rushing yards to B.C. while dropping to 4-4. He's been one of the few defenders consistently winning at the point of attack, but that's cold comfort when the unit is getting carved for 58- and 35-yard scores in the final 6:18.
Wilson's individual fits have remained sharp even as the edges around him collapse, and his thumping style has at least given the defence a pulse. With Zach Collaros nursing ribs and rookie dual-threat Kaiden Salter on deck, the Bombers need Wilson to spike the run defence — otherwise the second-half regression will keep spiraling.
Mid-range deal around $160,000 — productive value at the WILL spot.
He's the downhill run-stopper next to Bighill, the physical tone-setter whose gap integrity was supposed to anchor a depleted front seven.
