Vaval’s return TD is masking a coverage-unit depth gap

Winnipeg lost the turnover battle 2-0 in Edmonton and lost; a week earlier it also lost the turnover battle 2-0 but beat Calgary because Trey Vaval returned a kick for a touchdown. That’s a roster-depth tell: the Bombers are using return-game explosiveness to compensate for special-teams coverage/roster churn. When the return score doesn’t come, the margin collapses.
