Trey Vaval’s return game is masking turnover math

Winnipeg lost the turnover battle 2-0 to Edmonton and lost; last week they also lost it 2-0 but beat Calgary because Trey Vaval returned a kick for a touchdown. That’s a one-player special-teams ROI swing: the return specialist is effectively buying back a giveaway. When special teams struggled in Edmonton, the same 2-0 turnover deficit became fatal.
