Sergio Castillo is the only kicker among nine Tom Pate nominees

The Bombers' kicker is Winnipeg's lone representative for the CFLPA's Tom Pate Memorial Award, which will mark its 50th anniversary in 2026. Among the nine team nominees, Castillo is the only specialist; the rest are defensive backs, linebackers, defensive ends, and quarterbacks. That distinction signals his standing in the locker room and community beyond his kicking duties.
