Collaros's 2027 Pledge Is a Succession Standoff With Dru Brown

Collaros says he wants to play in 2027, but he's missed six of Winnipeg's regular-season games this year — a third of the schedule — while posting a 5-4 record, 70.6 percent, 11 touchdowns and six interceptions. Dru Brown is listed as the backup, meaning the Bombers are carrying a 38-year-old starter on starter money and a younger heir who has already absorbed real reps in Collaros's absences. That's not a depth chart; it's a countdown clock the front office hasn't publicly acknowledged.
