The Bombers are carrying starter money for a part-time quarterback

Collaros has missed six regular-season games with injury this year, including a two-game absence for a head injury, and sits at 5-4 as a starter with 2,204 yards, 11 touchdowns and six interceptions. At 38 and publicly committing to play through 2027, he forces Winnipeg to keep Dru Brown rostered as a full-time insurance policy — a cap and roster-spot tax that compounds every week Collaros is unavailable. The 33-28 win over Calgary was a reminder of what he still is, but nine starts out of a possible fifteen is the number that should drive the succession plan.
