SAM Return Boosts Run Support, Not Just Coverage

Jaylen Smith returns from a hip injury with 43 total tackles in what will be his seventh start, while Michael Griffin II had 38 defensive tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble over nine games. Smith’s 6.1 tackles per start versus Griffin’s 4.2 indicates the Bombers are prioritizing downhill run support at strong-side linebacker, a key matchup against Calgary’s heavy personnel.
