Montreal didn't beat Winnipeg's corners — it beat the shell behind them

Davis Alexander threw for 440 yards and Tyson Philpot caught 11 for 207 in the same game, a line that set two CFL single-season records plus a Montreal franchise mark. A 440/207 double almost never comes from getting outrun on the outside; it comes from the intermediate window between the hook and the deep third staying open all night, with the safety arriving a step late. Calgary and Saskatchewan will run deep crossers and sail concepts at that same window until Winnipeg proves it can squeeze it.
