Womack demotion is a quiet practice-roster savings

Kenneth Womack's demotion to the practice roster is the corresponding move to activating Wilson and Michael Griffin II. CFL practice-roster players earn roughly $750 per week instead of an active-roster game cheque, so Winnipeg gains a roster spot and short-term cap relief while keeping the rookie under control. In Week 18, that flexibility is worth more than Womack's developmental snaps.
