Collaros' six-game IL is a cap and succession lever, not just an injury.

Under CFL rules, a six-game injured list designation removes the player's salary from the cap while he's out, giving Winnipeg flexibility for a playoff push. With Collaros at 38 and Brown at 29—Brown has 8,980 career passing yards, 51 TD, 27 INT—the Bombers also get an extended audition for their post-Collaros future, and they've already promoted Canadian QB Taylor Elgersma to the active roster.
